Brian Wachtler
Storyteller

A true renaissance man who can take hits on the ice and get hits in the Wall Street Journal, Brian Wachtler's Zen-like wisdom often belies his physical stature. Imagine John Lennon crossed with old-time hockey’s Eddie Shore, and you’ve got a pretty good sense of Brian’s valuable place on the Haberman squad.

As head of account service for Haberman, Brian’s prime directive is to create perfect harmony between media, message and mission – no easy task when you consider the diverse client roster. Yet Brian's passionate, on-the-mark business and brand strategies – a product of a decade’s worth of work representing a myriad of Haberman’s technology and business innovators – are a perfect match for any pioneer.

A native of White Bear Lake, Minn., Brian’s first glimmer of talent shone on the ice of Manitou Bay, where he perfected his slap shot en route to the storied Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament. Following four years at St. John’s University and several thousand dollars worth of dental work, Brian honed his less-brutish powers of persuasion at Media Relations, Inc. and Padilla Speer Beardsley before arriving at Haberman in 1998.

Brian also has a long history of making sweet music out of noise, evidenced by his stint as a songwriter and guitarist playing for tough crowds at the 400 Bar and other legendary Twin Cities music venues.

He counts Wilco and the Beatles – as well as his wife and two children – among his favorite musicians.
