Inspiring a new generation of organic family farmers
The Lundberg family has grown healthy, sustainable rice for three generations. In 2011, Haberman helped the Lundberg company create and launch a new program to support young farmers and future generations. Raising Organic Family Farms (ROFF) provides scholarship/education funding, grant dollars for farm equipment or repairs and mentoring support. Haberman created a website for ROFF and coordinated social media outreach.
Results:
- ROFF received nearly 600 grant applications from aspiring organic farmers in the first three months of the program kick-off.
- 12,000 users visited the ROFF website within the initial months of the program launch and accumulated 43,000 page views.
- The Lundberg Facebook page engaged more than 2,000 new fans and 700,000 total post impressions.
