Saying "thanks" and honoring Minnesota veterans
Thanking veterans and their families is the mission of the Minnesotans' Military Appreciation Fund (MMAF). It's about honoring the sacrifices of Minnesota service members. The late Eugene Sit saw the need and wanted to express a love of country. From his vision, a powerful program has grown, with Haberman shaping, guiding and telling a story that has inspired an entire state.
Results:
- Securing high profile support from leaders including Senator John McCain, New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman and Tom Brokaw.
- Raising more than $11 million to date for Minnesota's military families.
- Generating more than 500 news stories in key media outlets such as the New York Times, USA Today and Minneapolis Star Tribune for a total of more than 200 million media impressions since the fund began in 2005.
