O Canada! Though Eric Wieffering hails from Halifax, his language skills are savvy enough to ensure he never misspells “center” or “neighbor.”
As a child, Eric was an omnivorous reader of cereal boxes and the Montreal Gazette, where he followed the exploits of Rusty Staub and Guy Lafleur. He never warmed to the taste of “ketchup flavored crisps,” but don’t get him started on salt and vinegar.
Despite his roguish Canadian roots, Eric boasts two decades of experience as an award-winning business reporter and editor. He was most recently the assistant managing editor for both business and local news at the Minneapolis Star Tribune. The Society of American Business Editors and Writers named the Star Tribune business section one of the three best in the country for 2008.
As a specialist in business, corporate and crisis communication, Eric provides valuable counsel to several of Haberman’s technology and health care clients.
Eric studied English literature at Carleton College, with a year studying and traveling in Europe. He's an elected board member of the Park Bugle, a neighborhood nonprofit newspaper. When he’s not playing hockey and drinking Labatt’s Blue, Eric enjoys playing golf deep into November. He’s also run about two-dozen marathons, including Boston, London, Chicago and Twin Cities.
