Eric Davis
Storyteller

On May 20, 2008, Eric Davis celebrated his 15th anniversary in public relations by leaping from the roof of the Textile Building (home to Haberman) into a large vat of news releases, fact sheets and various memoranda he’s written over the years. Then he brushed himself off, apologized to passersby and returned to his office, where he works on a variety of consumer and business-to-business accounts.

Eric is an “above average” PR person who joined Haberman in January 2001. He spent nearly six years leading the Volvo Cars of North America account. His projects included the Volvo for life Awards; the debut of the Your Concept Car; Irv Gordon turning two million miles in his Volvo; and Volvo Drive for life Days. Today, he passionately advocates for organizations seeking to make the world environmentally sound and sustainable, including Organic Valley, Green Depot, the National Cooperative Grocers Association and the Organic Trade Association.

Early in his career, Eric, a native of Nashville, Tenn., worked in automotive, entertainment and health care public relations while consuming massive quantities of sweet tea, honey dipped biscuits, barbeque and other Southern cooking.

He holds a public relations and journalism degree from Western Kentucky University, the same school in which Mitch McDeere from John Grisham’s The Firm attended, as well as the guy who played the leader of the country and western band “The Good Old Boys” in the movie The Blues Brothers.

Eric also is an author who has never been published, a bass guitarist never in a rock band and a five-tool third baseman never signed to a Major League Baseball contract. In his spare time, he is a professional surfer.
