President and Partner
Brian Wachtler jokes about being “the Prez” of Haberman, as his natural humility makes him a little wary of lofty titles. But his ability to lead, inspire, manage and mentor his employees, community and clients makes him deserving of the moniker. He’s been part of the team for more than 14 years, helping to build Haberman into a success story, as an agency that takes on clients that fit within our mission — to tell the stories of pioneers making a difference in the world.
Beyond building relationships with potential clients, overseeing agency financials, mentoring and managing the staff and executing on the company’s strategic vision, Brian is an extraordinary account leader who has helped business and nonprofit clients of all sizes develop authentic and relevant brand stories. Brian’s prime directive is to lend strategic vision and make things happen for the agency’s diverse client roster. Most recently, Brian managed Haberman’s evolution from a traditional PR firm into a full-service marketing agency.
He also loves beer and social good, interests well-served when he co-created —with Jacqui Berglund of Finnegan’s Beer— the “Social Suds” program, a quarterly gathering of social entrepreneurs in the Twin Cities working on a variety of causes. Read more here.
A Minnesota native and St. John’s University graduate, Brian coaches youth hockey with his kids in Roseville. In a former life, he led the 90s alt-rock band “Becoming Lazlo,” and there’s still an album available out there somewhere. He counts Wilco and the Beatles – as well as his wife Tracy and two children – among his favorite musical influences.
