This story starts with a business card. People who know Jessica Snell know what she likes, and it was a college roommate who knew Jess needed to work at Haberman. The roomie heard Fred Haberman speak on campus and afterwards picked up a card for Jess with the admonition, “Call this place. It’s your kind of crowd.”
Indeed, in the years that have followed, Jess has found more than just the right crowd and the meaningful work she hoped for in a career in communications. She keeps finding new challenges and new opportunities. Because though her title may say “Account Manager,” what does that really mean for a person who does so many things so well?
The way Jess sees it, every client assignment offers the chance to come back with counsel far beyond the obvious. Media relations? Sure, but in addition to earned media there might be paid opportunities in the bloggersphere. And that influences SEO. Which opens new directions in social media. Throw in local events. Coordinate with sales promotions. Revamp the website for a stronger owned media presence, and suddenly, the results roll in even faster.
Her goal is to keep simplifying the story, drawing out emotional connection points and consistently engaging audiences across all platforms. At Haberman, she applies her storytelling talents to a wide range of client initiatives, from Volvo Cars of North America to Annie’s, Pear Tree Greetings to Saint Paul Public Schools, FINNEGANS to Gold’n Plump Chicken.
Outside of the office, Jess plays and coaches volleyball. Yoga is a growing obsession. Travel is a true love, whether it’s exploring the Twin Cities from her home in northeast Minneapolis or relaxing in the Ontario wilderness with friends and family. A standout life experience was a trip to the medina of Marrakesh, which she visited as part of an extended nine city tour of Morocco and Spain.
Jess graduated from the from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn., where she earned a B.A. in Marketing with minors in Spanish and Public Relations.
